Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 is rocking into full swing, and one of the unmissable music shows this year is 27 Club, a high-octane live rock-umentary celebrating the legendary artists who left us too soon.
Fresh from winning the Best Music Award at Adelaide Fringe, 27 Club pays tribute to the myth and music of Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix. With powerhouse performances from some of Australia’s top rock musicians, this electrifying show is one not to be missed!
We caught up with Zac Tyler Founder and Director of 27 Club to ask him some quick questions about what audiences can expect from this explosive Fringe favourite.

Three things I'm taking to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe?
- My wits
- Good walking shoes
- Noise cancelling headphones for the 24 hour journey
What’s the most Fringe thing that’s ever happened to you (or that you’re bracing for)?
I'll answer this from 4 perspectives, as a husband of a performer, as an audience member, as a presenter and as a producer.
- Getting a call from my wife when I was back in Australia as she was finishing a full run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and climbing Arthur's Seat at 4am.
- Being the only audience member in a comedy show...awkward.
- Creating a crack den at the Adelaide Fringe when we presented Trainspotting in an abandoned underground night club in a train station.
- Producing and programming a new venue while mounting 2 new shows in the same fringe...the most fringe thing is lack of sleep, too much coffee and the right amount of wine.
