The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 has begun, and among the standout solo shows this year is Connor Malbeuf's Sorry: A Canadian's Apology for America.
The bold and funny Connor Malbeuf is an Emmy®-nominated TV producer and Canadian-born comedian based in Los Angeles. With credits including Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney and Everybody's in LA, Connor now brings his razor-sharp perspective to the Assembly stage at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
His one-man show Sorry: A Candian's Apology for America explores the chaos of American politics and culture through the eyes of a queer Canadian immigrant. It’s one of the must-see shows of the Fringe.
We caught up with Connor to ask five quick questions about what he’s most looking forward to at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Three things I'm taking to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe?
My Nespresso, a newly formed gluten intolerance, and unresolved issues with America.
What’s the most Fringe thing that’s ever happened to you (or that you’re bracing for)?
I mean Trump landed in Scotland the same week I did. He’s obsessed with me. Honestly, it’s getting weird.

Who should absolutely come and see your Edinburgh Festival Fringe show?
Come to Sorry if you're tired, confused, angry, hopeful, or just need to feel something that isn’t existential dread. Whether you are politically engaged or not, come laugh at the madness. I’ve worked in Hollywood for 8 years, inside the machine, alongside the chaos. I’ve got stories. And maybe, they’ll help us make sense of it, or at least laugh through the collapse.
What other Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows or artists are you excited about this year?
The guy screaming outside the Waitrose on Comely Bank road has been doing a tight five on the cost of living crisis. Maybe him. Oh, and Rosie O'Donnell, Cat Cohen, Laura Benanti. All the girls and the gays, really.
Queue the anthem.

What’s your #1 survival tip for making it through Edinburgh Festival Fringe?
Maybe I'll come back to this question in a month if I survive. Deal?
